Anne was born in France, in a Jewish Egyptian family; she teaches middle-eastern Egyptian dance in Paris, with Ocréambre (see links).
Anne graduated from the Raqs Sharqi Society created by Suraya Hilal. She has trained 12 years with Hassan Bengharbia, dancer and choreographer. She is training now with Abdel hakim Nasr on Saggats and is learning Egyptian Arabic. Dance, music and Arabic language nourish her inspiration.
Since 1994, Anne teaches dance at all levels (beginners to professionals) and organizes annual residential workshops in France (see links),
Europe (see links), and Egypt (see links).
Anne is also a choreographer and co-author of performances at the Institut du Monde Arabe and at the Théâtre du Gymnase in Paris (see links). After her last creation, “L'Invitation à la Fête” at the Institut du Monde Arabe in December 2009, she dedicated herself to training and directing amateur and professional dancers to produce and perform in more recent shows.
« Anne is inspired by her family history. Heiress of various influences which come up in her dance as so many traces of the memory of her ancestors, Anne passes this uniqueness and richness in her art. Andalusian art is the anchor of her creation. Many centuries after her Jewish ancestors were deported from Spain and a few other countries, her family found in Egypt a real welcoming country. Anne is passionate about Egyptian dance. She is fascinated by the Spanish influence in middle-eastern music. Her encounter with Florence Capo together with Florence’s influence on Andalusian music and dance led to an original and fruitful collaboration. »
